The Spirit Room in Fargo celebrates the new exhibit, “Everlasting Sky Art,” with an opening reception Thursday night. The exhibit features paintings by John Kakaygeesick and photos by Karen Kakaygeesick-Dethmers, both exploring the area around Warroad, Minnesota where they were raised as well as their Ojibwe heritage. The reception runs from 5 to 7 p.m. with a gallery talk by the artists at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Fargo singer/guitarist Annabelle Maher celebrates the release of her self-titled debut CD with a release party Thursday night at Fargo Brewing Company. Two years ago, Maher made headlines when she played the TV show, “Today with Hoda & Jenna.” The red carpet event starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by a performance from the 16-year-old rising star and her band. Tickets are $10 for this all-ages event.
Tribute to Carole King

Feel the earth move under your feet Saturday when local musicians pay homage to the legendary Carole King. This year's Raspberry Jam features an all-star local band of Pat Lenertz, Karie Marie, Gina Powers, Jake Schaefbauer, Kate Henne, Jesse Braunagel, Fred Haring, Jeremiah Johnson, Seth Schaefer, Randy Schrenk and Steve Wallevand performing the songwriter’s own hits (“It’s Too Late,” “So Far Away,” “You’ve Got a Friend”) and those she wrote for others (“Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “One Fine Day” and “Take Good Care of My Baby” for Fargo’s own Bobby Vee). The music starts at 7 p.m. Saturday in Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music at Concordia College in Moorhead. Tickets are $20 and $25.
Whose Live Anyway

The popular improv comedy TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway” jumps to the stage with Whose Live Anyway this Saturday at the Fargo Theatre. Show regulars Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops along with Jeff B. Davis and Joel Murray go off-script for a night of free-wheeling, unexpected comedy. The laughs start at 7:30 p.m. with tickets for $58 or $68.
Lil Wayne

After being snowed out for a date in early April, Lil Wayne makes his Fargo debut Sunday night at Scheels Arena . The rapper will play tunes from the last 20 years like “A Milli,” Lollipop” “Fireman,” “Hustler Musik,” “Mrs. Officer,” “How to Love” and more. The show opens at 8 p.m. with Cordae. Tickets range from $76 to $126.
Storyhill

Bozeman, Mont.-based singer/guitarists Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson created some folk circle buzz in the late 1980s as Chris and Johnny but really took off a few years later when they adopted the name Storyhill and moved to Minneapolis. Each artist has found success as a solo artist, but the music they create together is special. After a decade break, the duo started recording together again in 2019 and bring their sweet harmonies and intuitive playing to The Hall at Fargo Brewing Sunday night. Tickets for this ID-only show are $25.
