RedHawks fall to Winnipeg, eliminated from playoff contention
WINNIPEG — The Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks fell 5-3 to Winnipeg in American Association baseball at Shaw Park with 4,585 in attendance.
Tim Colwell, Charlie Valerio, and Jake Vieth each scored a run for the RedHawks. Quinn Irey and Derrick Fox each had one RBI for F-M.
RedHawks starting pitcher DJ Brown (9-3) gave up five earned runs on 12 hits with a walk and a strikeout through eight innings to pick up the loss.
F-M fell to 49-47 overall.
The RedHawks were eliminated from American Association playoff contention Wednesday night after Gary SouthShore earned a 4-1 victory against Sioux Falls. The top two teams in each of the two divisions make the postseason.
