Chicago defeats RedHawks for second consecutive game
FARGO—Chicago defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 7-3 Saturday in American Association baseball at Newman Outdoor Field in front of 2,854 fans.
Stephen Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead Chicago.
Leo Pina hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning to lead the RedHawks. Yhoxian Medina added two hits and an RBI.
F-M starter Michael Tamburino (1-2) gave up four earned runs on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts through 5 1/3 innings to pick up the loss.
The RedHawks fell to 49-45 and are five games behind Gary-SouthShore for second place and the final playoff spot in the North Division.
Late Monday night in a game delayed because of rain, Chicago ripped off 16 hits to post a 7-0 win over the RedHawks. The game ended at 12:23 a.m.
