RedHawks use six-run rally to power past Wichita
WICHITA, Kan.—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks rallied for six runs in the ninth inning to earn an 8-5 victory against the Wichita Wingnuts on Wednesday in American Association baseball at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium before 2,543 fans.
RedHawks outfielder Keury De La Cruz belted a two-run home run in the ninth inning to spark the game-winning rally. Charlie Valerio capped the inning with a two-run double. F-M (27-23) faced a three-run deficit heading into the ninth inning.
RedHawks third baseman Leo Pina went 3-for-5 with one RBI and scored a run in the ninth inning. Pina is batting .345 this season.
Right-hander Reese Gregory (3-2) pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn the win for the RedHawks.
