Pina, Kessay lead RedHawks to victory against Winnipeg

FARGO—Leo Pina had two hits and drove in three runs to help lift the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to a 9-1 victory against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Friday in American Association baseball at Newman Outdoor Field.

The RedHawks (23-22) have won two consecutive games to move a game above the .500 mark. F-M shortstop Yhoxian Medina added three hits and two RBIs.

Pina belted a three-run home run in the third inning to cap a five-run rally that gave the RedHawks a 5-1 lead. F-M added four runs in the sixth inning.

RedHawks starter Sebastian Kessay (3-2) pitched seven solid innings to earn the victory. The left-hander allowed one earned run on four hits, while striking out four batters and walking two.
