Motorized bicyclist runs into side of vehicle in Devils Lake

 

DEVILS LAKES, N.D. -- The driver of a motorized bicycle ran a red light, struck another vehicle on the driver’s side and sustained serious injuries Monday, July 9, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

In the 2:30 p.m. crash, a Toyota Avalon driving along U.S.Highway 2 had a green light and, as the car came through the intersection, the bicycle crashed into the driver side, said the Patrol.

The rider of the bicycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike.

The driver of the sedan, 59-year-old Jodi Nelson of Devils Lake, did not sustain any injuries. The name of the injured bicyclist has not yet been released.
