Identity of victim in Watford City crash identified

WATFORD CITY, N.D.—The North Dakota Highway Patrol on Sunday, July 8, released the identity of a Williston, N.D., man who died Saturday, July 7, when the motorcycle he was riding failed to navigate a curve on a county road and the bike crashed.

According to the Highway Patrol report on the crash:

The incident happened about 4:40 p.m. when the motorcycle driven by Dana O'Dell, 49, was westbound on County Road 10 about eight miles north of Watford City.

After leaving the road, the bike traveled about 250 feet before striking a wire fence.

O'Dell was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash.

O'Dell died at the scene, according to the Highway Patrol.
