When Tara Haakonson left her hometown to attend the University of Minnesota Duluth, she dealt with discomfort over her new situation by excessively exercising and restricting her diet. She was diagnosed with an eating disorder and has gotten help through the Emily program in Duluth. One of her symptoms was that she felt cold all the time, so she would sit in her car in the sun to warm up. Clint Austin / caustin@duluthnews.com
