U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer is encouraging President-elect Obama to consider the successes of the Bush administration's agricultural policies while deciding what course his new administration will follow.

WASHINGTON – The Agriculture Department on Monday lowered its forecasts for this year’s U.S. corn and soybean harvests, pushing up the prices of both commodities.
