Sons of Norway to host concert, dance this week

FARGO — The Sons of Norway lodge here will host two special events this week.

First up is a performance by trumpeter Kai Robert Johansen, now doing his 15th tour of the Midwest, which will include a concert at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Fargo's Kringen Lodge, 722 Second Ave. N. The trumpeter who hails from Østfold County in southeastern Norway will be joined by vocalist Jannicke Heian Frølandshagen and the Islandsmoen's Men's Choir. The show is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, Oct. 13, Northern Lights Ballroom Dance Club will hold a dance at the lodge celebrating the group's 25th anniversary from 7 to 9:30 p.m. featuring music by The Myron Sommerfeld Band. That dance costs $5 for members or students and $10 for non-members.
