FARGO — The local Chamber of Commerce is excited about its keynote speaker for an event that's still more than five months away — but they have a good reason to be excited.

The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce will bring Rachel Hollis, a New York Times best-selling author, TV personality and founder of Chic Media, to Fargo for its Jan. 22, 2019, installment of the monthly Women Connect series.

The Chamber started to make the big announcement Thursday evening, Aug. 2, giving locals plenty of time to plan ahead if they'd like to hear what the buzzworthy Hollis has to say.

Hollis has become a big name in women's circles in recent years, being named one of Inc. Magazine's Top 30 Entrepreneurs Under 30 and earning acclaim for her 2018 book "Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be."

The Chamber said the Los Angeles resident has a "tell-it-like-it-is" attitude and approachable style to motivate, inspire and connect with women around the world.

While the Women Connect series is a monthly happening in Fargo, The Chamber tends to bring in a nationally known keynote speaker each January.

Hollis will be in Fargo for the Jan. 22 Women Connect event, which will be held 3 to 5 p.m. and feature a social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Delta by Marriott, 1635 42nd St. S.

Advance registration is $55 for Chamber members and $70 for non-members, while tickets will cost $65 for members and $80 for non-members at the door. Attendees will also get a free copy of "Girl, Wash Your Face."
