Plains Art Museum earns reaccreditation

FARGO — The Plains Art Museum here has earned reaccreditation from the American Alliance of Museums.

The downtown Fargo museum, located at 704 First Ave. N., announced this month that such a stamp of approval is only awarded to less than 7 percent of museums in the country. Plains Art Museum was first accredited by the AAM 2003.

To gain the approval, museums undergo a rigorous process to evaluate their ability to uphold best practices in the field. AAM's Accreditation Commission said the Plains Art Museum demonstrates" the highest professional standards for education, public service and collections stewardship, and a commitment to continued institutional improvement," according to a news release.
